I posted a detailed abalysis of Edukart.com on my career blog http://blog.simplycareer.net about its business model, the courses its offered and review of those universities offering courses through edukart and I also posted the same to various career forum including citehr.com
Instead of responding properly, edukart.com defended and justify its action for selling inferior degrees. I just wondered, can they become so unethical?
Finally, we have to blame our education system, UGC, ministry of HRD for such a poor system. I am reiterating, believe me, nobody loose except the students.

I am really surprised at what you have written here. I am not sure if you have done enough research to highlight the facts. This forum is not about spreading negative remarks about any company or person.
Please speak with the Edukart people and clarify any doubts you have.
I have removed his name and details and he must have reported this to Edukart.
Here is my reply

Please read my article.
This forum is of course for creating awareness. I have done enough research and written the article after thinking a lot. Edukart is just a copied model of the business and consist misleading information on its website. Majority of HR people who have done PG Diploma from SCDL must have got the experience that how SCDL diploma not helpful at all in their career and it is not awarded through symbiosis international university. I do not need to biased towards them, I am representing the fact. Yes, they can counter reply my claim and I am open for debate. Also, on my blog, I have written feedback of people on mouthshut.com which is self explanatory. Another simple example, if you can apply directly to university and can do the course in 50000, do you want to give additional 25000 to edukart just because you are taking admission through them? And again, such arrangement is against the UGC Act and guideline. and finally reply from Edukart which is half truth and they are not responding point to point

Dear CiteHr readers,
We have come across this post about EduKart and would like to post an official reply on the website.
1. We are providing genuine fee on the Degree/ Diploma programs that we promote on EduKart. Our counsellors assist students to get information about the programs and complete their admission formalities, based on the guidelines strictly set by the Universities. We do not charge any additional fees for admissions.
2. Just like many companies, those provide free and paid Certificate courses, we do the same. Some of paid certificate courses are very well know. We are happy if course seekers take this courses or choose to go with the free MOOCs available across the world.
3. We are supporters of free MOOC movement and have been supporting it by promoting courses. You can see our initiatives on EK Open: Find Online Courses from Coursera, Edx, Udemy and more
Thanks,
Admissions Team

please provide detail,
You have written PGDM distance from Symbiosis University, can you post it here, when Symbiosis University does not offer any distance programme so how are you providing the same?
Here is the report from Hindustan Times where HRD Minister clearly specified that UGC guidelines violated in distance education
Here is the excerpts
“The University Grants Commission (UGC) has informed that a university established or incorporated by or under a state act shall operate and function only within the territorial jurisdiction defined under its act and in no case beyond the territory of its location.”
“Contrary to this provision, a few state universities and private universities set up under state act have violated this policy of the UGC. The Commission has asked these universities to close down such centres and to comply with the UGC’s instructions in the matter,” responded Irani.
Despite the HRD minister’s statement in Parliament, however, no concrete moves have been evident in curbing this malpractice. For instance, Karnataka State Open University in Karnataka (KSOU) and Mewar University in Rajasthan are still openly offering affiliations in distance learning mode to institutes outside state boundaries.
Further,
Various RTI applications to the UGC by students and their parents, related to affiliations of institutes offering distance learning courses, have revealed that from the year 2014, state universities – both government-funded and private – cannot offer any such programme beyond the boundaries of their respective states.
“UGC notification No F.27-1/2012 (CPP-II), dated June 27, 2013, on territorial jurisdiction policy, states clearly that the state universities (both private and government-funded) can offer programmes only within the state
You are offering courses from Venkateshwara Open university from Arunachal Pradesh which does not have approval to offer courses in distance mode. Then how are you offering those programmes?
Are not you risking student's time, money and career?
End of the day losers are students only. You are agent, you will make money and you fled away when there will be legal complications.
I have got communication from thousands of students how they risked their career and repenting.
About your certificate, its not me, its your student who have clearly stated that edukart's certificate programmes are useless. Please see
Following are the excerpts from the PIB of Government of India
1. DEC prohibits franchising of study centres by universities/institutions.
2. UGC too has issued instructions banning degrees awarded through any franchisee programmes operated by private institutions.
3. It does not recognize study centres of universities/institutions
4. the territorial jurisdiction for programmes in distance mode for Central Universities , is as per their Acts and Statues, for State Universities (both Govt. funded & private), it is also as per their Acts and Statutes but not beyond the boundaries of their respective states, for Deemed to be universities, it is as per notification of Government of India and for private institutions (other than Universities), it is confined to headquarters
So as per this, first of all venkateshwara Open University cannot offer course in distance mode, the other state universities cannot offer courses outside their respective states, private and deemed university cannot offer distance course even recognized beyond their headquarter.
I hope you understand. If you still feel that I have prejudiced towards you and defaming, you are free to send legal notice to me. (I do not think after giving so much clarity and evidence above, you can do that, In fact your contract (if any) with those universities exist, they are illegal/ void contract as per Indian Contract Act i.e. An agreement to carry out an illegal act is an example of a void agreement (illegal, because it violates essence of pre-existing Act i.e. Private University prohibition and regulations Act and also hon'ble supreme court judgment on Prof. Yahpal Vs State of Chhatisgarh)
Below is detail of UGC guideline on territorial jurisdiction and can be downloaded
I hope this make things clear.
I have never said Edukart is fake or selling fake degrees. You may refer my blog where I have specified as follows:
Few clarifications
1. Edukart is illegal official agents of many universities to whom UGC and law has strictly prohibited to offer courses beyond a limit and some universities do not have right to offer course in distance mode at all.
2. I have not found Edukart in the scam of selling degree by violating norms, it is just facilitating admission in those universities.
3. Edukart is neither an institute nor a university and as specified it is just a mediator facilitating admission and not awarding any qualification by its own.

Govind
I would like to thank Ravi Sharma who also provided his input before I could write my blog, here is his mail

Respected sir
I read your blogs regularly now. Thanks for spreading information and saving many's careers.
Sir, I wish to bring to your notice this website named 'Edukart.com,'
It offers all the distance programs like MBA's , PG diplomas from universities and institutes which you have listed in your blog posts and of which students need to be aware of.
When i tried to contact them through chat on internet, i was told that these distance MBA'S and PG diplomas holds value and are Government approved and recognised, they also told me that PG diplomas from NMIMS are equivalent to MBA!
When i tried to delve deeper (as how state universities like KSOU can offer degree to a person like me who reside in Delhi) they just asked for my phone number and other contact details so that they can convince me in taking admission through their website.
Sir, I would urge you to go through this website and expose them through your informative blog so that students and people can stay away from such websites.
Regards
Ravi Sharma.

Hi Govind:
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest mistakes of life!! I have enrolled for MBA from KSOU University (Karnataka) through EduKart in 2014. I was about to complete this course in two years but still date not even a single examination has been conducted from their end, TILL DATE and the reason cited " Delay from University, we can't help"
I have been pursuing for examination for long but not help. Initially when i enrolled for this course I had been told there will be an "Objective" type examination and later on to my surprise I got to know that examination will be "Subjective" and since then lots of such bombshell has been dropped on me.
I paid around Rs 45000/- my hard earn money and now I am claiming my money back with whatever deduction (with no fault of mine) and in return I get a response from EduKart “No refund policy”.
My experience with EduKart is full of agony and complete deniable from there end. Though, I am situated in Saudi Arabia and meanwhile I don’t have an option but to wait. But I swear; I won’t let them swallow my hard earned money so easily.
I am waiting for few months, after that I am filing a litigation against EduKart. Govind, I would really appreciate if you help me on this subject.
EduKart
RESPONSE, IF YOU SEE THIS BLOG
First of all KSOU had lost its recognition from DEB, second it was under lot of controversy, third, they cannot offer the course outside the Karnataka State. Edukart, knowing this, could not offer the course to you and if you file a complaint in consumer forum under unfair trade practices of the Consumer Protection Act 1986, you will surely win. Write a strong email to them. Let me know if you need any help
DeleteGovind,
DeleteThis is very blog, I used to follow, I took admission MSC IT from KSOU on 2013 Now recently i came to know it has no recognition from 2012-13 In this situation i have paid rs 30000 to VET KSOU. What you suggest at this moment? How to return back money ?
Thanks
Partha
hi sir.. this is shiva from AP.. after completing B.Com(computer applications) from periyar university through distance mode can i do regular MBA in Andhra Pradesh? and is this degree valid for government jobs in AP
ReplyDeletePeriyar university being a state government university can it offer distance courses in other state? please reply ASAP
Hello Sir,
ReplyDeleteI have some queries related to Distance MBA. I have read your blogs; it’s very informative for readers. But still I want to know about Distance MBA and related to my career.
I am Prashant Desai and had completed 3 years full time Technical Diploma in Computer Technology from Mumbai conducted by Board of Technical Education of Maharashtra (Year 1997).
Due to some family & financial issues I cannot continue my education and joined one IT firm, immediately after diploma result. Now I have 18 years of experience in same IT firm, also got growth in position. To complete my graduation, in between in year 2000 to 2004 I had try in BCA from IGNOU. But along with job and because strict rules/regulation of IGNOU, I was failed to complete the BCA within time. Finally i have completed BCA from YCMOU this year 2015 (In distance education mode).
Currently my job profile is like management kind of work. So to achieve a certain position in company or to apply for job in another company, I need some extra qualification like MCA or MBA. I also cleared ATMA MBA entrance exam by 67.82 percentile. I have shortlisted some universities/institute to do MBA in distance education mode like Bharati Vidyapeeth, IGNOU, YCMOU, NMIMS, Welingkar. Because full time or part mode is not suitable for my work time so i need distance education mode only.
Request you to please suggest & guide me for above mentioned condition or suggest if any other way. Thanks for kind help.
Prashant Desai
EDUKART PROMISED FULL REFUND BUT HAS NOT HONOURED TILL DATE (read the Email Attached)!!!
ReplyDeleteEnrolling through Edukart is a total waste of time. Just be careful. They promise everything under the sun however fail to deliver even 1%.
Two years ago, I enrolled for Exec. MBA (Venketeshwata Open Univ.). They changed my course to KSOU by themselves but till date could not arrange the online examination for me. Calling them on their support number or writing them is of no use as they will reply in a scripted way with no results or follow up. Finally, I demanded for a refund and one of their AVP (Praveen Kumar) agreed to REFUND my fee on Apr 7, 2015 however till date its pending despite 100's of follow ups. Seems my words are falling on deaf ears.
Take a look at the email that I received.

Dear Manish,
As per our discussion, this is to confirm that if University takes online assignments for final assessment for both your pending semesters, then you can answer the assignments in given time frame. If the online assignments are not taken by the University then EduKart will refund the fee paid for the course.
Do let me know if you have any concerns.
Best Regards
Praveen
