Good morning friends,
Bollywood produce some of the finest and soulful music. Yes, everybody has their own choice of the music. For me, a song becomes good or great due to meaning of the lyrics, music, instruments used, quality of the singer. Let me be very frank, I have zero knowledge of the music, instrument and any aspect of singing. I am just an enthusiastic listener who enjoy music for few hours of the day.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a Rakesh Omprakash Mehra film. It was expected that like the past two movies (Rang de Basanti and Delhi 6) of ROMP production, for this Shankar Ehsan Loy has rendered the music. Absence of A R Rahman does not disappoint the listener. We must accept that like Lakshya and mission Kashmir too, the trio have done justice to this album
Now let us see about its songs and music. This album has total 8 songs. This album is available in physical (CD) as well as digital format, for online streaming on Dhingana.com and possibly on other portal, for download at itune and other legal store.
Prasoon Joshi Joshi has penned down all the songs. It's a well written songs.
Songs
1. Gurbani: Daler Mehndi has rendered his voice for this spiritual song. There is nothing special. I do not think Daler Mehndi's voice has made any greater impact on this. I do not think this song is going to make any high impact. If we compare it with ek onkar of Rang De Basanti, ek Onkar is much better, soulful and people will prefer to listen again and again.
2. Zinda : Siddharth Mahadevan has rendered voice for this song and it is his debut song as well as album. He has different voice compared to his father. This song is well written, well sung and music is also good. This is a motivational song and I hope it is going to be motivation anthem of the youth, TV and realty drama show for sometime. It's a kind of serious song. Whenever you feel low, you can listen and revive your energy and motivation.
3. Mera Yaar : Javed Bashir has sung this song. It is quite lengthy (5.51 minutes) but very beautiful, soulful both in terms of meaning and quality of music and singing. It is a perfect gift for somebody you love. This has a Sufi touch and comparing love as good as prayer through the line ishq karun ya karun ibadat eiko hi gal hai, mai mandar kyun jawan mera yaar khuda hai, mai masjad kyun jawan mera yaar khuda hai (Whether I love or do prayer it is sane thing, why should I go to temple, my love is my God, why should I go to a mosque, my love is my God). This song is gaining popularity. Mohammad Bashir's voice is unique and truly matches with a Punjabi soul. The singer selection is perfect. Every word of this song touches heart, so the music.

4. Maston Ka Jhund: Divya Kumar has sung this. This is another best song from this album. It has a bhangda touch. It's start with the line "Havan kund maston ka jhund, sunsan raat ab aisi raat rakh dil pe haath hum saath saath bolo kya karenge - havan karenge havan karenge havan karenge".
Havan is a Hindu ritual process for spirituality. It is done with the recite of Vedic hymns for bringing prosperity. This song is not meant for meaning buy for enjoying. The video is so funny that it will bring a smile on your face. This is the best for friends get together of friends or to make somebody angry to laugh.

5. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Arif Lohar , a Pakistani singer has rendered his voice for this song. This is again a motivational song with less instruments and more emphasis is on voice. Arif Lohar gain popularity from Coke Studio Pakistan through song Jugni. Later this song adopted in movie Cocktail. Arif Lohar is one of the best talent. Ethnically and individually I do not see any difference between artist of these 2 nation. Since Pakistanis have given Milkha Singhji title of "Flying Sikh", singing this song by a Pakistani artist makes more sensible. His voice sound similar to Daler Mehndi but has a different imprint.
6. Slow Motion Angreza: Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Loy Mendonsa has rendered voice in this song with major singing by sukhvinder Singh. It looks like some 70-80 s song, nothing unique from Sukhvinder but still this is also a good song but not as good as other songs.

7. O Rangrez: Shreya Ghoshal, Javed Bashir have sung this song and it has a classical touch. It reminds of Dhire Jalna of Paheli. Very soulful, meaningful for someone you love. One of the best from Shreya Ghoshal. You will love it.

8. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (Rock Version): Siddharth Mahadevan has sung this song but it is little faster than the original soundtrack. I feel the original is better than.
In short, this album has long shelf life and can be part of your music collection.

Almost everyone of us love music and respected the hard work of the music director, film maker who put lot of efforts to bring quality music to us. However, the piracy has hit badly the music industry. I know, downloading songs from pirated sites are free of cost and easy. But please note that they earn undue profit from this.
