Today, Maharashtra Government has issued notification for Maharashtra MBA admission.
The admission will be based on CMAT score conducted by AICTE. So the Maharashtra has done away with its own state level entrance exam for MBA/ PG in management. Apart from CMAT it is also accepting CAT, MAT, XAT and ATMA.
The question arise is which college you should choose?

First of all, please do not go by the misleading advertisement given by some C grade institutes. One such example is Swayam Siddhi College of Management and Research.
It says it ranked 12th in Mumbai reason, what a bull shit? It says it has achieved 100% placement and it is assured, the fact is it could not place even 10% students. Even on its website it claims it has placed around 55% students then how the assured word came?
In my above blogpost, I have given the ranking, ISM Dhanbad ranks some 43rd in India still it never claims 100% campus placement achieved because they are honest and truthful. There are many such institutes exist.
Recently, one of the student from a management institute from bandra came to take my advise, in final placement he got package of 15000 per month, all inclusive, including travelling for a sales job (now think about hundred of unknown institutes what is the condition of their students)
The top rated management colleges in Mumbai region are:
1. SP Jain Institute of Management and Research,
2. Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)
3. National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai
4. Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, Mumbai
5. Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai
6. NMIMS University School of Business Management - Mumbai, Mumbai
7. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai
8. Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai
9. Institute for Technology and Management, Navi Mumbai
10. NL Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai
11. K J Somaiya
12. ICFAI Business School Mumbai
13 Lala Lajpatrai College, Mumbai
Except these, there are no other institute which I think worth of doing MBA in entire Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai region. Rest other institute even cannot fetch salary of 15,000 per month. So beware, take your decision carefully.
